Bespoke wingback armchair
Did you know that the ‘wings’ that give this chair its name were originally designed to protect the sitter from chilly draughts, back in the days before central heating was commonplace?
The side panels helped to retain warmth from the fireplace, creating a cosy little cocoon. Nowadays, people are still drawn to the wingback chair for its stately elegance and classic charm. And while the wings are no longer needed to retain warmth, they do make a rather good headrest for a snooze!
But traditional doesn’t have to mean boring…
This bespoke commission brings a vibrant twist to a classic design, combining a bold coral fabric with a printed velvet from Linwood’s Kami collection, decorative studs and painted legs to match.
If you’d like to put your own twist on a traditional piece don’t hesitate to get in touch.
